Websites · Personal websites

When the business is you, the site has one job.

Most websites are built to be found by strangers. A personal site usually is not. Somebody met you, or was given your name, and now they are typing it into their phone to decide whether to take you seriously. The site is not opening that conversation. It is closing it. That changes what it needs to be — smaller, faster, and far more particular about the first thing a visitor reads.

Right now, somebody else's platform is answering for you.

Search your own name and look at what comes back. A LinkedIn profile, an Instagram grid, maybe a directory listing with your old phone number on it. Every one of those is a page you do not own, wrapped in somebody else's navigation, showing the ads they chose. You are being introduced by a company that has never met you.

What this kind of site has to do
  • Your name, ranking first, on a domain that belongs to you
  • One page that loads in about a second, because it opens on a phone in a car park
  • The actual work, shown — not described in a paragraph about passion
  • A way to reach you that is not a direct message you will miss
  • An email address at your own name, so your reply looks like it came from a business
The honest part

This is the cheapest thing I build, and the one people most often oversize.

If you are one person rather than a company, you almost certainly need one page and not six. I would rather sell you the small version and have it be right than pad it out with a services page, a blog you will never write and a testimonials section with two entries in it.

A project like this usually starts with the Launch package, below. About one week from the day you approve the scope, and no website I build takes longer than 30 days.

Packages

Pick the one that fits. The price is the price.

Whichever one you pick, you fill in one form and the rest is on me: the domain, the business email, the site, the listings, and the automations behind them.

Brand identity — $900

Logo, colours, type, and a one-page guide so everything a customer sees looks like it came from the same business.

Merch store — $600

Your own shop selling shirts, hats and whatever else carries your name. Nothing is printed until somebody orders it, so you are never sitting on a box of unsold stock. I build it and hand it over. Orders, sizes, refunds and the person asking where their hoodie has got to are yours, not mine.

AI assistant — Quoted for your business

An assistant on your site that knows your business, answers questions after hours, and takes details when you cannot.
